The world keeps spinning, so why are you procrastinating about your life or career?

One of the many things about getting older is you start to realize how fast time flies. I remember my mother telling me this when I was younger, but it didn’t really sink in until I got much older. If you do not like your current career situation you need to start planning your way out. Right now! Do not wait until it’s too late!

Stop Procrastinating!

We all know people that say, “I’ll get to it” or “One day I am going to _______” and they never get around to it. Why? Because we think we are going to live forever and we have plenty of time to get around to whatever it is we want to do in our life and our career, that’s why.

Well, time flies, doesn’t it? And before you know it you will feel “stuck” in your situation. Nobody is ever stuck, don’t get me wrong, but you start to attain more and more responsibilities in your life and you will feel “stuck”, meaning you just can’t change directions very quickly. You have a house, spouse’s career, kids schools and their extra circular functions, and bills. How can you possibly change now?

How can you possibly do what you want to do in your career now? Well, let me get this straight, when everything is going great you cannot change your career and do what you want to do, right? Basically, you have too many responsibilities. Okay, what if you were fired, downsized, your company went out of business or whatever the case many be and you found yourself out of work? Now what?

Now you will be forced to do something, won’t you? Do you think it would have been better to plan and figure out what you really want to do when everything was going great? Absolutely! If you have been let go, now you are scrambling to find something, ANYTHING! Now you’ve lost that luxury of planning and finding that “dream career” for you. You know, the right industry, company and position that you’ve always dreamed of having.

That is why you should never procrastinate when it comes to your career! Companies will do what is in their best interest, and you need to do what is in your best interest. And believe me when I say that companies can spring these “best interest” for the company on you at a moments notice. The world keeps spinning and we keep getting older so stop procrastinating when it comes to your career. If you do not like what you are doing in your career – change it! Don’t wait until it’s too late. Go for it! I hope this helps.

Good luck to you!
