If you’re making excuses, creating alibis, or inventing reasons for your career failures you need to take a look in the mirror and see the person responsible.

You have the freedom to do what you wish in this life. I am not telling you it’s easy, because it’s not easy. It takes a lot of hard work and persistence on your part. You have to want it! Nothing just “happens” you have to make it happen.

I talk to candidates all day that give sound reasoning and alibis for why they can’t do this, or they can’t do that, in their careers. It sounds convincing to them, but not to me or anyone else. It sounds like a lot of excuses, alibis, and invented reasons for being miserable.

It’s easier to settle, change is hard. If you want to find an alibis or excuse you won’t have a problem finding one, they’re everywhere. People settle for less than they can have all the time in their careers and relationships. Why? Why are you here? What are you doing?

If your alibi or excuse is, “I’m too old to start over” or “I’ve been trained for this profession, I don’t want to waste my training” or “I don’t like what I’m doing, but it’s what my parents wanted” or “I have a job, I would be crazy to give this up” and the list of alibis and excuses are endless.

I want you to quit making and inventing alibis for your career failures. I think some of you need to get fired, because that might be the only way for you to leave the nest and start learning how to fly. You have more control over you life and career than you will ever realize. Be free! Take control! I hope this helps.

Good luck to you!
