When you are interviewing for a position it’s important to ask questions during your interview. Ask a lot of questions!
Even if you are out of work, you still need to ask a lot of questions in an interview. Do your homework on the company. Find out everything you can about the company, people, reputation, philosophies, and anything you can find out about how they operate. Don’t just jump into something. Make sure it’s right for you and your career.
I understand if you need to get a position to “hold-you-over” but I still want you to ask a lot of questions. You want to make sure this company and position are right for you, otherwise you will be making another change in the near future. So, ask the questions that are important to you and if this company and their position aren’t right, you should pass.
People are unhappy in their careers because they are working for the wrong company and they are in the wrong position. Do you know why? Most likely it’s because they didn’t ask the right questions during the interview. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. It is perfectly normal to ask questions about the company, position, location, type of work, etc. In fact, most companies are prepared to answer those questions, so ask them.
I want you to interview the company as much as they are interviewing you! Find out if this is the place you want to work for 40/50 hours a week. It’s important for any company to ask you a lot of questions to see if you will “fit in” and it’s important for you to ask a lot of questions to make sure they are a good fit for you. Ask a lot of questions when you are interviewing. I hope this helps.
Good luck to you!
